With over 1,500 titles vying to take places on CNN’s list of best video games this year, game publisher big names like Activision, Sony, and Nintendo proved to be forces to reckon with.

CNN launched its list of best games for this year, saying that game trends for 2009 included sequels, co-op play or games that allow players to collaborate instead of compete, social games or those free in social networking sites and fast-growing handheld games.

For the best shooter category, Activision’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 snatched the prize. The newly launched game, for 17 year-olds and above, runs on Microsoft Xbox 360, Sony PlayStation 3 and PC. CNN described the game as a “gripping near-future military shooter.”

Ah, the Xbox 360. One of those guy addictions along with basketball and mixed-martial arts that girlfriends have to compete with. The same Xbox that’s being rained golf club beatings upon by this blonde crackhead in a video inspired by jealous rage and maybe a dearth of good TV shows or books in her neighborhood to keep her amused.

Anyway, we think this girl belongs a sanatorium rather than a suburb, so as a rule guys should keep their girlfriends and ease the bats underneath their pillows for any nightcrawler attempting destructive liberties with their Xbox. continue reading…

“You get what you pay for,” is the hard lesson learned by Xbox 360 owners who were told that they need to purchase a new console if they want to play online again.

“To be honest, I’ve contemplated whether to move to PlayStation 3 or buy another Xbox,” Raz, a 25-year-old Xbox player, told BBC News.

“I wouldn’t do it again but I really don’t know if I’m going to get the Xbox again now,” a regretful Raz added, referring to modifying his game console. continue reading…
