This time around, Tom Ford can not rely on the aesthetic magnanimity of the visual arts. As one of the leading modern fashion icons, he is certainly used to sending messages across runways and fashion shoots.

But we rarely see a visionary designer crossing over to the realm of men and women who are dressed for the part, but not necessarily for fashion week. And though he’s working with film heavyweights here (Julianne Moore, Colin Firth and upstart British actor Nicholas Hoult to be exact), Ford’s directorial debut, A Single Man, now casts him as a newcomer in a field not his own. continue reading…

Astronomically speaking, stars are not aligned too close to each other; otherwise, they would most certainly explode.

But who cares about violent collisions right? Certainly, Hollywood’s biggest stars, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, are not one of them. Following the filming of their action film Mr. & Mrs. Smith, the two rode a whirlwind romance named by the paparazzi “Brangelina.”

And now, it seems astronomy is catching up with the megawatt couple as reports indicated that they are separating and are now fighting over the custody if their six children: Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Know and Vivienne. continue reading…

After so much anticipation, the epoch of director James Cameron’s CGI-epic Avatar has begun with an opening midnight gross of $3.5 million.

However, despite notching $73 million at the box-office during its opening weekend at 7,000 screens in 3,452 sites, it only copped the second highest December opening of all time behind I am Legend’s $77 million in 2007.

Because Avatar has been cited by industry experts as a game-changer for Hollywood, some people have expressed worries about Cameron’s opus not meeting uber-high expectations (even with the winter storms keeping people inside). continue reading…

The entertainment business is tough; in fact, it’s so tough that it took a wayward hot air balloon and a hoax of a missing six-year old kid just to get a slice of the limelight.

Topping CNN’s list of most viewed online stories this year is Falcon Heene, more popularly known as “balloon boy.” Falcon shot up on CNN’s online poll after being the subject of a widescale search by land and air.

Falcon, the youngest of three brothers, was reportedly on a wayward hot air balloon that hovered over Colorado. After a frantic chase by the authorities, the balloon landed without Falcon on it as the boy was at home all along.

This will prove that after Twilight, there’s still an equally bloody rewarding career outside of Hollywood for its cast.

Kellan Lutz, the actor who played Emmett Cullen in the film adaptation of Stephenie Meyer’s phenomenally-successful vampire novel series, has reportedly inked a deal with Calvin Klein to become the clothing company’s lead underwear model.

According to an unidentified source from Fox News, the actor is starring in a huge campaign similar to Mark Wahlberg, the Hollywood “bad boy” heartthrob who brought Calvin Klein’s underwear to iconic status in the 1990s. continue reading…
