After the slowdown and standstill of ‘08 and ‘09, we’re all looking forward to get on the fast lane this new year. So, are you ready to spend and hit the road in style this 2010?

If so, then go get a roadster, that two-door type of car that’s always been a ruling member of road royalty. And when making the list, consider the BMW Z4 sDrive35is.

Set to make its world debut at the January 2010 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit, Michigan, this coup of a coupe is the latest in the German luxury automaker’s famed Z4 series. BMW’s website describes this new spider as “combining classic proportions with modern sportiness,” and is confident that it will surely be at the top of its market segment due to its impressive features. continue reading…

Members of Switzerland-based Sauber team have their fingers crossed that good things really come to those who wait.

Staring at the possibility of missing next year’s Formula One tourney with BMW bailing out on the races and with Malaysian-backed newcomer Lotus F1 snatching its spot on the grid, Sauber team’s fate was rather dim.

But the Swiss racing squad patiently waited on the wings for the next team that will bow out of the competition. Last month, Toyota said it won’t be chasing the checkered flag after its final race in Abu Dhabi this year, opening the 13th place for Sauber. continue reading…

Designed to surpass the 1000MPH land speed record, the proposed Bloodhound LSR supersonic car (SSC) employs a hybrid engine that is comprised of a rocket engine and a fighter jet engine.

The jet engine uses the Rolls-Royce XG-40 technology developed for the Typhoon Eurofighter interceptor.

The 42 feet long, 6.5 ton workhorse departs from the previous record-breaking car, which was the Thrust SSC back in 1997 when it broke the 700mph land speed barrier. The hybrid rocket implemented in the new Bloodhound is being developed by Daniel Jubb, who is also involved in the previous Thrust SSC design. continue reading…

“I rode my Crocs and wore my Porsche today.”

Confusing? While some people think it is remotely impossible to confuse a car from a shoe, Porsche AG just did not want to take that chance so it sued Crocs, Inc. for trademark infringement.

When Italians live life, they live life to the fullest. When the people of Lamborghini live life, they live life to the utmost in terms of power and speed. This probably explains why there’s such a thing as the Lamborghini Reventon Roadster.

First of all, there’s the Lamborghini Murciélago, which is the carmaker’s flagship offering ever since it came out in 2001. An offshoot of the Murciélago LP640 is the very limited edition Lamborghini Reventón (with only 21 cars made), which came out in 2007 and is one of the most powerful and most expensive sports cars in the world.

And because the Sant’Agata Bolognese carmakers couldn’t leave it well enough alone, they now have the even more powerful and more expensive Lamborghini Reventón Roadster. continue reading…
