Time to be keen about Kia. The well-known Korean carmaker and the country’s oldest motor manufacturer delivered a triple whammy at the International Geneva Motor Show in Geneva, Switzerland: the twin world premiere of its all-new Sportage crossover and all-electric Venga EV concept car, and the European premiere of the Ray plug-in hybrid sedan concept.

Looks like one of the world’s best automakers is set to accelerate even further ahead this year. European car giant Volvo will be unveiling its all-new S60 sedan at the prestigious Geneva Motor Show on March 2, and the company has promised that this will be the most dynamic car model it has ever launched so far.

This early, the S60 is being touted as one of the best of the best in the CD Premium category, one of the car world’s most competitive segments and characterized by superior road performance.

dodge challenger 2010

The king of cars has been overthrown by a new challenger—in this case, the retro-ish 2008 Dodge Challenger reminiscent of the late ‘60s and early ‘70s muscle cars.

According to the recent survey by Consumer Reports, the V8-powered Dodge Challenger has topped the Toyota Prius hybrid in terms of customer satisfaction. The survey noted that 92 percent of Dodge owners would definitely buy another one given the opportunity. continue reading…

Do you know what the hottest set of wheels is right now? It’s got that particular logo that makes you think of screen screechers like race ace Herbie and Transformers’ Autobot. But no, we’re not talking about the Beetle. Instead its Volkswagen’s other bestseller, the Polo.

The German company’s latest incarnation of its popular supermini car was recently chosen as European Car of the Year by a panel of journalists from various automobile magazines such as Stern (Germany), Auto (Italy), Autocar (UK), and L’Automobile Magazine (France). Here’s a driving tip for you: if you’re ever lost while driving, make sure you’re driving a Ford.

According to a recent navigation system survey commissioned by JD Power and Associates, Ford managed to rank first and second with their Clarion navigation systems in their Lincoln MKS and Ford Flex respectively.

Likewise, the survey noted that Ford took five of the top ten slots: the Ford F-150 was at 4th place, the Ford Escape was at 7th while the Ford Edge followed at 8th.  Meanwhile, non-Ford vehicles were ranked accordingly: the Acura TL was at 3rd, the Porsche 911 was at 5th, the Cadillac CTS was at 6th, the Hyundai Genesis was at 9th, and the Infiniti FX-series was at 10th. continue reading…

Black Friday is coming to stores this week and it seems like General Motors is joining in the fun with a few inventory sales.

GM has recently announced that they’re clearing their 2009 inventory by the time January 2010 rolls around. This means that each of their production lines will have a specific sale. 2011 sonata

The world’s fourth largest automaker is gearing up for a better and bolder road experience as Hyundai introduces their first ever direct-injected engine with the 2011 Sonata.

The move is part of the company’s larger plan of being the number one in offering fuel-efficient vehicles.

In particular, the company’s Korean plant is introducing its new 2.4-liter Theta II GDI four-cylinder engine as a way to to show Hyundai is serious about offering fuel-efficient cars. This new engine takes advantage of the charge cooling effect of direct injection by boosting the compression ratio. continue reading…

Volvo S60

Spring 2010 will see the launch of Volvo’s S60, a sports-looking car that is set to rival BMW’s 3-series, Audi A4 and Mercedes C-class.

The design is freshly new, since it is signed off under former design director Steve Mattin, recently ousted for the returning Peter Horbury. The design also allows better distinction between the S60 and S80. The S80’s recent revisions and new engines now put it in competition with the BMW 5-series, Audi A6, and Mercedes Benz E-class.

The new S60 is reported to have more of a coupé feel than a saloon. Although the concept leaked in the past, the glass roof and handclasp doors of the concept have been dumped for a more conventional construction.
